Deep Tissue Massage

The focus of this modality is to break up adhesions or “knots”.
Repetitive motion, sustained contraction, injuries and surgeries can cause muscle fibers to adhere to each other restricting proper blood and lymphatic circulation within the muscle tissue. Tight muscles restrict movement and can cause additional pressure on the joint they mobilize. Cellular waste accumulates in tight muscle fibers contributing to inflammation in the tissue.
During a deep tissue massage session the focus is on breaking up adhesions.
If you have chronic tension or pain or restricted range of motion you most likely will benefit from a deep tissue session.

Deep Tissue massage:

  • Breaks down adhesions
  • Improves Mobility
  • Reduces pain associated with muscular tension
  • Improves Posture

Some conditions that deep tissue helps alleviate include:

  • Sciatica
  • Restricted range of motion
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Headaches-migraine/tension/cluster
  • Tennis Elbow
  • Back pain
  • Knee pain
  • TMJ
  • Arthritis symptoms
